Tag Rugby Festival
On Thursday 7th November, eight Year 3 and Year 4 children took part in a tag rugby festival at Dorchester Rugby Club alongside other schools from the Weymouth and Dorchester area.

On Thursday 7th November, eight Year 3 and Year 4 children took part in a tag rugby festival at Dorchester Rugby Club alongside other schools from the Weymouth and Dorchester area.
On Thursday 17th October, Year 1 and 2 attended the Dorchester Schools Literacy Festival.
On Friday 11th October, Year 1 visited the Food Bank in the Dorchester Dorford Centre as they delivered our Harvest donations to the Food Bank.
With the general election taking place on 4.7.24, Frome Valley First School decided to hold its own mock elections as part of our British Values work.
On 3rd July, Reception visited Crossways Court (housing care for retired people) as part of their Active Citizens work.
On 19th June, all children across the school took part in our annual sports day. KS1 and Reception had their sports day in the morning and KS2 (Years 3&4) had their sports day in the afternoon.
On an afternoon at the end of May, we held our annual May Day. This included each class dancing at least 2 traditional dances as well as dances for family members to join in with too.
It was a great privilege for Frome Valley First School to be part of the Dorchester Schools Miles for Mosaic fundraising event. Many schools in the Dorchester area have used the services of the charity Mosaic to support children in their school with bereavement. Overall, 13 schools supported this event.
As part of our equality plan for 2022-2026, we wanted to focus on neurodiversity with our pupils to increase their understanding of this. We spent two days this academic year thinking about neurodiversity.

To celebrate World Book Day, all the children came to school dressed in their favourite book character.
As part of our Sports Funding, we arranged for our children to experience skateboarding and scooter lessons. The children were very excited!
