Year 1 Visit to the Dorchester Food Bank
On Friday 11th October, Year 1 visited the Food Bank in the Dorchester Dorford Centre as they delivered our Harvest donations to the Food Bank.
Each class at Frome Valley First School has an Active Citizen project. For example, Reception visit Crossways Court (a retirement housing complex). Year 1's Active Citizen project is the Dorchester Food Bank. The children raise money to purchase requested items as well as chocolate "treats" to add to the food parcels at Christmas and Easter.
It was important that the Year 1 children visited to Food Bank to see how the food bank worked and what they would be working towards this academic year.
