Miles for Mosaic: April 2024

It was a great privilege for Frome Valley First School to be part of the Dorchester Schools Miles for Mosaic fundraising event. Many schools in the Dorchester area have used the services of the charity Mosaic to support children in their school with bereavement. Overall, 13 schools supported this event.

We began the week with a special assembly that introduced Miles for Mosaic and the reason why we were supporting the event. We also linked up all the schools taking part so that we could say hello to everyone and wish them luck with their running!

On Wednesday 24th April, we held our fundraising day, running miles for Mosaic. This was a sponsored run and children were sponsored for how many miles they would run around the school playground. All children took part in the event (Preschool to Year 4) as well as staff running miles for Mosaic and even parents joining us at the end of the day to run some miles for us too!

We then announced how many miles we had run in the day, and it was a staggering amount! The whole day was such an uplifting and magical day of perseverance, teamwork and respect for each other.
